Siding doesn't go from clean to grimy overnight. It happens slowly - a little algae here, some buildup there - until one day you look at your house and wonder when it started looking so tired. That's exactly what was going on with this Freehold home before we showed up.

The siding had developed that classic green-gray film you see on a lot of homes in New Jersey. Algae and organic buildup love moisture, and our humid summers give it plenty to work with. Left alone, that stuff doesn't just look bad - it eats into your siding over time and can shorten its lifespan.

We used a soft wash approach here, which is the right call for vinyl siding. High pressure can force water behind panels and cause real damage. Soft washing uses a low-pressure rinse combined with the right cleaning solution to break down algae and grime at the source - not just blast it off the surface temporarily.

The difference is hard to miss. The trim around the entry, the columns, the siding panels - all of it came back bright and clean. That front entry went from looking worn down to being one of the sharpest parts of the house. It's the kind of clean that makes the whole exterior look well cared for.

House washing is one of those services that punches above its weight. It's not a massive job, but the visual payoff is huge - and protecting your siding from long-term damage is just as important as the curb appeal boost. If your home is starting to look a little dull, this is where we'd start.
